Thus Says The Lord

Richard Waialeale

Scripture

Jeremiah 33:2 “Thus says the LORD who made it, the LORD who formed it to establish it (the LORD is His name)...

Observation

Whenever I see this statement being made in the book of Jeremiah, “Thus says the LORD.” The Lord God is about to say something HUGE. So then, when I repeat the same thing, it may even sound like boasting or bragging but, boasting or bragging in the Lord has nothing to do with worldly possessions or with altering reality. The context concerns God’s ability to glorify Himself even in our weakness.
True boasting in the Lord is actually boasting of the Lord, that’s what I’m saying —boasting of His great attributes, boasting of what He has done for me, of what He is still doing and of what He has promised to do. As Jeremiah says earlier, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight,’ declares the LORD.”

Application

It’s a miracle that I have come this far in life and it can only be of Jesus. I recognize all of the incredible works, the good things and His working in my life and I give Him all the Glory and Honor for using me. I must always seek Him for help and dependance. Never try muscling it on my own, or I will eventually fail. More then anything, I will forget the Lord when depending on my own strength. The more I talk about Him and glorify Him the more I know I need His presence, power, and protection, and hopefully - the more I know I need Him.

Prayer

Thank you Lord for holding my hand and walking with me, in Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
