Watch your pride Rod!

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture

[20]The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk, [21]nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts. Revelation 9:20-21 ESV

Observation

Even after severe judgement, the hardness of man’s heart would lead them to continue in sin. To be so swayed and deceived, continuing in idol worship after fierce and strict punishment is really sad. Yet go I, if not for the grace of God opening my heart to know Jesus! In the last days, should I expect anything less than obstinance and rebellion? I know my role is to be Jesus love and light among the unsaved and lost around me. Yet, I am not alarmed when I’m snubbed, rejected or threatened for my faith in Jesus!

Application

Prayer is my application. I want to be a man of prayer for those around me who are rejecting Jesus. Even for those who are nominal Christians. The backslidden and lukewarm need Jesus love - just like I do!

In light of all the political jockeying to legalize gay marriage, abortion, other life choices that contradict God’s Word - I must keep a heart of repentance myself. Lest I slip into deception - thinking I’m better than they of walking a subtle spiritual pride that stinks in God’s presence.

Prayer

Jesus -

Thank you for Your constant love and reminders to stay near and in You! TO be a man after Your heart is my inner longing. To be, look and act like You is my desire. Thanks for your grace and help me to be a strong and loving witness - pleasing to You in the sight of those who need You in their lives!
