Can You Hear Me Now?

Marsha Kochi

Scripture

Hebrews 1:
1 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, 2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. 3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high

Observation

Here the writer of Hebrews tell us that God is speaking to us all the time, through His Prophets, through the Word, and in His Son. Through the Word, we find many examples of ways that He speaks to us; dreams, signs and visions to name a few. Because Jesus is God, He represents the voice that we want to constantly hear. God gives us numerous ways through the Word to hear His Voice. Because The Bible, the scriptures, is God Breathed, His message may not be caught by me in Isaiah, but I recognize His Voice, and what He wants to say to me in Luke, or in John and etc.

Application

When I have to ask myself, "is this God speaking, is this the enemy, or is this just me", I need to get closer to Him. The scriptures tell me that His sheep, knows His voice, they follow Him. I will think again before I say, "where are you God, I don't hear You". I will have to wonder instead, where am I? Am I listening, or am I choosing to ignore what I know in my heart I should be listening to.
This reminds me of the cell phone commercial that speaks about phone connections, and the person asks the other one, "can you hear me now", moves around, and asks again, "can you hear me now?"
I feel like God is constantly doing that, and asking us, "do you hear Me now?"

Prayer

Thank You Lord for Your voice, thank You for speaking to me in the ways that allows me to know, beyond a doubt, that it is You. "Yes, Lord, I can hear You now."
