but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Romans 5:8-11

There is so much power in this passage. Through Jesus and Him alone, does all mankind have salvation. The showing of God’s love is through Jesus death - justification through His blood. It is through One mans obedience and act of righteousness (v18-19) that I am made right with God.

Who is this Jesus? In chapter 9, Paul identifies Jesus as human, referring to Him as a man. He is the Son of God - the Christ and our Lord Jesus. v8-11 says I am loved while being a sinner, justified by His blood, saved by Him from wrath, reconciled as while an enemy, to rejoice in God through Jesus. This is powerful and very, very great news! This is the Gospel.

Today I’m thinking that I want to be different by simply acknowledging God and His Son. I’m not being moved to apply these passages to my life. In fact - Jesus has already applied His life to mine.

My application today is a heart felt, sincere response of great adoration, worship, love, thankfulness! I am inundated and overcome by His great showing of love for me. I LOVE YOU JESUS!

God you know the changes that I need to work on - the practical decisions I need to make in my thought life (mainly). Oh, my attitude too. But I just want to say I LOVE YOU. I THANK YOU. I WORSHIP YOU. YOU ARE A GREAT, MIGHTY, LOVING, FAITHFUL, GENEROUS GOD!
