Lord God of the heavens...draw them

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture

Then Hiram the king of Tyre answered in a letter that he sent to Solomon, “Because the LORD loves his people, he has made you king over them.” [12]Hiram also said, “Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who made heaven and earth, who has given King David a wise son, who has discretion and understanding, who will build a temple for the LORD and a royal palace for himself. 2 Chronicles 2:11-12

Observation

Hiram was seen as a notable world trader. As King, his relationship with David, now Solomon was mutually favorable. Hiram was aware of David’s trust in the Lord, probably a result of hearing God stories since he was a neighbor to Israel. Hiram acknowledges God in a way that he’s probably experienced through his relationship with David. It’s intriguing to me that King Hiram acknowledges the Lord’s love for His people... being the Lord God of Israel - who made the heavens and the earth. Even a secular King was used to add recognition to the person of Yahweh.

Application

Whether King Hiram was a man of faith in the God of Israel or not, I want to live differently by relating to, connecting with people who may just hear of or know of God. I believe the witness of the God story He has given me, could be used to help others get a taste of the Lord God who made the heavens and the earth.

I pray this for B"" who was the groom of the wedding I performed. And for A & J , new friends - who may know of God... My prayer is that the aroma of the greatness and love of Jesus through me, would be used to draw others closer to recognizing - then surrendering their lives to the Lord God - their Creator!

Prayer

Dad,
I pray that you would touch these and others you’ve placed on my heart to pray for - to be a light to. Spirit of God - please draw these to with Your love to Jesus. Help them to begin believing... one thought at a time - to recognize You as Lord God who didn’t just make the heavens and the earth - but Lord over their hearts. Thank you very much to revealing Yourself to me. Thank you sooooo much! Love you tons!
